10 FACTS ABOUT THE COMING OF JESUS

The greatest expectation of creation awaits the blessed hope of the coming of Jesus and the rapture (catching away) of the Saints to meet and be with the Lord.

What does the Bible says concerning the coming of Jesus and how will it be?...

10 BIBLICAL TRUTHS:

1. LITERAL EVENT:— The second coming of Jesus will be a literal or an actual event that will happen in this world, it will be personal and everyone will feel the effect of what is happening.

Acts of the Apostles 1:9-11 "[9]After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him. [10]As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. [11]“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”

2. It will be a VISIBLE EVENT:— when Jesus comes again from the clouds of heaven EVERYONE will see Him come with glory and great power, the coming of Jesus Christ will NOT be a secret event but a visible event (see: Matt 24:26-27, 30).

Revelation 1:7a "Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see him— .."

3. It will be AUDIBLE: The coming of Christ will be followed  by the sounding of the trumpets by the angels, at the last trumpet call which will be so audible that everyone will hear, even the dead will hear and be raised (see: John 5:28).

1 Corinthians 15:52b ".... For when the TRUMPET SOUNDS, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed."(emphasis)

1 Thessalonians 4:16 "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMPET CALL of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves." (emphasis)

4. It will be GLORIOUS:— Jesus will come back with great power and glory and with all the angels of God (see: Mathew 16:27,  25:31).

Mark 13:26 "Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great power and glory."

5. It will be EARTH SHAKING:— As the Lord returns with great power and glory, it will be earth shaking and shattering; The mountains and islands will be moved in their places and the powers of heaven will shaken with signs in the skies (see: Matt 24:29, Mark 13:24-25, Luke 21:25-26).

Revelation 6:12-17 "[12]I watched as the Lamb broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood. [13]Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from a tree shaken by a strong wind. [14]The sky was rolled up like a scroll, and all of the mountains and islands were moved from their places. [15]Then everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. [16]And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. [17]For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?"

6. The RIGHTEOUS DEAD will be RESURRECTED first:— when Jesus comes again the righteous dead or believers or Christians who have died will be raised from their graves first (see: Daniel 12:2, John 5:28, 1 Corinthians 15:52).

1 Thessalonians 4:14-16 "[14]For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. [15]We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. [16]For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves."

7. The LIVING SAINTS will be TRANSFORMED:— At the appearing of Jesus on the clouds those believers who are alive to witness His coming will be changed within a twinkle of an eye and be given a new body (1 Corinthians 15:50).

1 Corinthians 15:53 NLT "For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies."

8. ANGELS HARVEST:— God will send His angels to the four corners of the earth to gather the elect or Christians (see: Mathew 24:31, Mark 13:27).

Mark 13:27 "And He will send out his angels to gather his chosen ones from all over the world—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven."

9. The GATHERING OF THE SAINTS (Rapture) to meet the Lord in the air:—  The living and the dead believers who have been raised to life will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air...This will not be a secret event or disappearance (see: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2, 1 Thess 4:16-17, Revelation 1:7).

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "[16]For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. [17]Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever."

10. The DESTRUCTION of the WICKED and the ANTICHRIST:—  At His appearing the Lord will destroy the Antichrist and all wickedness (Revelation 19:11-21, 2 Thess 2:8, Ephesians 5:6, Col 3:6).

2 Thessalonians 2:8 "Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will kill him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming."

My brothers and sisters in the Lord this is the truth about the coming of Jesus as revealed in God's word,... Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Jesus is coming soon.
